A space heater may be sufficient or you may want to purchase heat lamps that can be directed at the plants for individual plant heating.

Setting up a cold frame is a greenhouse part that allows small plants to grow without the hindrance from wind and lower temperatures. A cold frame is a box without a bottom and has a top which can be removed. Soil inside of the box collects heat during the day and maintains a certain amount of that heat during the hours when the sun is not out. This box can be surrounded by straw which acts as insulation to help hold in heat.

Another greenhouse part you might need is a hot bed. This is a soil bed which is enclosed in a frame and is heated to provide ideal growing conditions for seedlings. Seeds can be started for weeks prior to warm weather and then they will be ready for outdoor planting when spring finally arrives. Hotbeds can also be converted to cold beds if you want to acclimatize your plants before setting them outdoors.
